We first met at a party in the summer of 2012—Danica was about to start her last year of nursing school, and Jamere was home from college for the break. That summer, we spent endless nights talking on the phone, sometimes falling asleep mid-conversation. Before heading back to school, Jamere asked Danica on their first date at the Court Street movie theater to see Skyfall. Shortly after, he returned to Philadelphia, but we remained connected, always supporting and praying for each other over the years. In December 2018, our story truly began again when Jamere reached out to share that Danica had inspired him to return to school. The following summer, we fell in love, and over the past six years, we’ve built a life together—traveling across the Caribbean, Europe, and Central America, and finding peaceful escapes in places like the Catskills, where Jamere rediscovered his passion for golf. Along the way, we’ve celebrated countless holidays and joyful moments with those we love most—Jamere’s mother, Tushia, his grandmother, Becky, and Danica’s parents, Willianie and Frank—along with the incredible community of family and friends who have surrounded us with love and support. Through career changes, a doctoral degree, illness, and relocation, we leaned on each other and on our faith, growing stronger with every step. We’ve been blessed to be embraced by each other’s families, and the life we share feels beautifully crafted with care, grace, and love. On Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024, surrounded by both of our families, Jamere proposed after receiving Danica’s father’s blessing. It was a quiet, intimate moment filled with gratitude, followed by an evening of champagne and celebration. Today, we continue to share our love for art, desserts, travel, and giving back. We see God’s hand in every part of our journey, and like artists bringing a vision to life, He has been shaping a love story beyond what we could have imagined. We are endlessly grateful and can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with you! “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” - Jeremiah 17:7-8
