Kip and Sarah met in October 2012 on Kip’s first day of his AT&T internship in Durham, North Carolina. Sarah was hired a few months prior to Kip and was responsible for training him. A friendship and strong professional working relationship quickly developed between the two over the next several months. In early 2013, Sarah moved to a different team and a different shift than Kip. Although they no longer worked at the same times, Kip and Sarah would catch up whenever they could. In December 2013, Kip was offered a permanent job with AT&T at their headquarters in Dallas, Texas. Although the prospect of moving to Texas and beginning his professional career was very exciting, he couldn’t shake a lingering feeling of sadness that he would likely never see Sarah again. On Kip’s last day of his internship, he made the rounds saying goodbye to his colleagues, but spent extra time saying goodbye to Sarah. Kip moved to Dallas in January 2014 and quickly began building a new life for himself, making new friends and developing in his new career.
To Kip’s surprise in May 2014, Sarah informed him that she received a job offer in Dallas located in the same office. Kip and Sarah’s friendship quickly reignited over the next several weeks prior to Sarah’s move as they spent many hours on the phone talking about the office environment, Dallas, etc. Sarah moved to Dallas at the end of May 2014 into an apartment that was about 10 minutes walking distance from Kip’s apartment. A few weeks after Sarah moved, Brandon Narybouth, a mutual friend of Kip and Sarah from their AT&T internship, flew to Dallas to visit for the weekend. That Friday night, Kip and Sarah went out in Uptown Dallas with Brandon and other friends. While entering one of the crowded bars, Kip extended his hand backwards for Sarah to grab so they could stay together. Once they arrived at an open space, Kip realized Sarah was still firmly grasping his hand. At that point, he knew their relationship had grown beyond friendship. Kip, Sarah, and their friends proceeded to dance the night away and bar hop around Uptown. At the end of the night, Kip asked Sarah if he could walk her back to her apartment to make sure she got home safely. Once they arrived at her apartment, Sarah asked to show Kip the fountains in her courtyard, and while in the courtyard they had their first kiss. The two quickly became inseparable and began officially dating a few weeks later. Over the next several years, Kip and Sarah developed a strong bond as romantic partners and as best friends. Together they have built a life for themselves in Dallas with both advancing their careers and developing rich lifelong friendships.
On New Year’s Eve December 2019, Kip proposed to Sarah in the rooftop lounge of their apartment overlooking downtown Dallas surrounded by some of their closest friends. Kip and Sarah are looking forward to taking the next steps in their relationship by getting married, purchasing a home, and starting a family.
