Nat and I originally met in January 2014, during a BYX-Alpha Chi mixer. I remember being extremely intimidated by everyone there, because it was my first real social event in college. We played a game similar to Heads Up, where everyone was wearing a headband with certain sports-themed words written on a notecard attached to the headband. The point of the game was to go up to people and ask questions that helped you figure out what word or person's name was on your head. I specifically remember going up to Natalie and having the easiest time going through our words, because we both knew our sports terminology pretty well. And to me, that was the coolest thing ever meeting a cute girl that knew people like Kobe Bryant and terms like free-throw. I'm pretty sure we went back to each other multiple times during that night whenever we needed help. She was absolutely the highlight of my entire night. After that night, I went home and creepily looked her up on social media (hey, it worked), and reached out to her saying I had a fun time and looked forward to the next time my fraternity and her sorority had another function together. Months would go by, and I would occasionally see her posts on social media throughout the semester. I kept thinking, "Man, that girl is so out of my league. She's beautiful, smart, and most importantly, cares about her sports teams". As our spring formal was approaching, I decided to shoot my shot and ask her to be my date. ("You miss 100% of the shots you don't take - Wayne Gretzky" - Michael Scott). On March 30, 2014 I sent her a Facebook message saying: Hey Natalie! I know we hardly know each other and I had a lot of fun talking to you at the mixer this semester. But I've been meaning to ask you if you wanted to go with me to the BYX Spring Semi-Formal on the 25th. You can text me at 8652098662 to talk more about it! Late that day she wrote back: Hey yes of course! I texted you!! And the rest was history from that day forward! - Hunter
