Her Story

In 2012, the young high school grads Thomas and Rebecca met at the Ministry Volunteer Program in Baldwin Park, California. She thought he was a much older working youth but soon discovered that he was really just a big kid at heart. Through working on church projects together, Thomas and Rebecca became good friends. They would chortle at the same jokes and soon, discovered they had very compatible values in regards to serving God. Through this time, they also began to grow feelings for each other. They kept this in prayer but never told each other. Four years later... Thomas finally decided to ask Rebecca out and the rest is history!

His Story

Let's hear the REAL story. It was summer of 2012 at Baldwin Park Church as I was working on RE Audio Lessons (REAL) hehehe. Rebecca walked in the room to grab something from her suitcase and introduced herself. On the way out, she managed to imply that I was much older than I looked and I was flabbergasted. Fast forward 8 years later, and now I'm going to marry that sister :) Though Rebecca and I had a rocky start to our friendship, we soon realized that we had more in common than just our knack for awkwardness. This flourished quickly into a budding friendship and we became very close friends. I attended the campus fellowship in Philadelphia remotely during my college years and that only fueled our friendship into opportunities to serve together in the church. I found myself talking more and more to Rebecca both for personal and spiritual reasons and soon enough, I couldn't deny my feelings for her. God continued to pave a way for our friendship through servitude in the church and I knew that if I could serve God with Rebecca, then I would want to do that with her my whole life. I mustered up the courage to ask her out and by God's grace she said yes :)

For all the days along the way
