Question

Why a Catholic Mass?

Answer

In the Catholic tradition, marriage is not only a celebration of love but a sacred covenant — a sacrament instituted by God. The bond of husband and wife is a reflection of Christ’s unbreakable love for His Church. Because the Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life, the Church invites couples to begin their married life within the celebration of the Mass. During the Mass, the couple’s vows are united to Christ’s perfect act of love made present in the Eucharist. In this way, the covenant of marriage is not only witnessed by the Church but also strengthened and sanctified by God’s grace. Celebrating our marriage in the context of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass expresses our desire that Christ be at the heart of our union and that our love be rooted in His divine love.

Question

How you can participate in the Mass?

Answer

We are deeply grateful that each of you is joining us for this sacred celebration. Your presence and prayers mean so much as we begin our married life together. In the Catholic Church, the Eucharist — Holy Communion — is the most intimate expression of unity with Christ and His Church. Because it signifies and deepens a communion of faith, life, and worship, those who are practicing Catholics and properly disposed (having recently received the Sacrament of Reconciliation, if needed) are invited to receive the Eucharist. If you are not Catholic or not prepared to receive Communion at this time, we warmly invite you to come forward with arms crossed over your chest to receive a blessing from the priest. You may also remain in your seat and join us in prayer. Your presence and prayerful participation are true gifts to us, and we are so grateful to share this moment of grace with you.
