Things To Do

Forest Park Beach

Lake Forest, IL 60045

Just under a mile east of downtown Lake Forest, Forest Park Beach is one of the most beautiful places in the Chicagoland area. With walking trails, wooded bluffs, beach coves and boat rentals, it's a great way to spend a summer day. From downtown Lake Forest, it's about a 15 minute walk through one of the area's most historic neighborhoods. Non-resident day passes are $25.

PNC Center at Halas Hall

1920 Football Drive, Lake Forest, IL 60045

The Chicago Bears headquarters and practice facilities are just down the road from The Forester Hotel (1st option). If you're a football fan, you won't get a better opportunity to tour the facilities of one of the NFL's original franchises. Rumor has it another NFL team will be sharing our hotel with us, so feel free to antagonize any opposing players you come across.

Le Colonial Lake Forest

655 Forest Avenue, Lake Forest, IL 60045

Le Colonial is a new restaurant in downtown Lake Forest that offers upscale French-Vietnamese cuisine with a modern dining experience.

Mickey Finn's Brewery

345 North Milwaukee Avenue, Libertyville, IL 60048

Great brewery/restaurant in the heart of downtown Libertyville. They brew a number of their own beers onsite and also offer many other local, domestic and imported options on tap. Beautiful indoor dining and patio with live music on weekends.
