Matron of Honor
Jessica (aka Jess, aka Jessint) and I met freshman year of college. Dining hall buddies who felt the need to join every club in the College of Business, Jess and I connected right away over our love for food and being a #bossbabe. Since then, we've seen each other grow through big life changes, low life blows, and now, marrying the loves of our life! Jess has always been one of my biggest cheerleaders strongest advocates. She believes in me when I don't believe in myself and is such a bright light in my life. Few people can make you feel as special as Jess can - and I couldn't be happier to have her standing with me on the most important day of my life
Best Man
Billy and I met sophomore year in high school and played basketball together (when I wasn't faking injuries to get out of practice). I was usually the third wheel to Billy and his then girlfriend, now wife Heather. Fortunately for me they haven't gotten sick of me and I'm lucky to call them family. The only thing more exciting than standing by Billy's side when he and Heather got married is getting to be the godfather to their son William (Cinco).
Officiant + Sister of the Bride
Morgan (aka seester) is someone it feels like I've known my entire life (the crowd laughs)! I've always looked up to my sister for many reasons - the biggest being her commitment to self-improvement. Morgan has never settled for "enough" and pushes herself to keep learning every day. Seeing this constant example encouraged me to model my life in the same way. Seeking constant self-improvement has not only made me a better person, but a better partner to Justin. Morgan has been a great supporter of our relationship and our relationship development, and we're so excited to have her officiate our ceremony!
Groomsman
I'm fortunate enough to have a fiancé who has an awesome sister that has an equally awesome husband. Mike happens to be that husband. In the years I've been dating Devin, Mike has become a great friend. Devin and I couldn't be more thankful for his friendship and support. Plus you can't beat his taste in beer and whiskey.
Bridesmaid
Jamie (aka Jaim, aka our adopted child) and I met just a few months before Justin visited Austin for the first time. She was there the weekend we met, and actually encouraged me to spend time with him. By the time Justin moved to Austin, Jamie was a deeply integrated part of our lives. Though she'll be standing on the "bride's side," she's a best friend of the groom as well. For both of us, Jamie is a never-ending stream of love and support. She sees the best in us (and in our relationship) and reminds us of those things constantly. She gives so much and loves us hard. Jaim has been almost as excited about our wedding as we have, and we can't imagine the day without her with us every step of the way.
Groomsman
Peter "Bones" Haney and I met freshman year in Mulladey Hall where he convinced me to walk on to the Holy Cross crew team. Fun fact...because our last names are close alphabetically Pete and I had to share a bed when the team traveled. I'm lucky he still calls me a friend with how much I snore. Thankfully he does and I'll have him standing up there with me.
Bridesmaid
Martha (aka Martita, aka Frick) was my assigned mentor at work and my first friend in Austin. Always up for an adventure, Martha made my move feel like a movie. Her spirit and passion for life were contagious, and she made every day feel exciting. Martha has always encouraged my more artistic and philosophical sides, and encouraged me to write down the things I was telling her about Justin. Because of her, I now have some really cool memories recorded. I love what my little Frick brings out in me - if you hang around with her long enough, you'll feel like you can conquer the world.
Groomsman
Grant and I met freshman year at Holy Cross. Our friendship and competition was one of the only reasons I stuck it out on the team as long as I did. Grant and I have made more than a few memories over the years (ask him if River Ave in Camden is actually next to the river...hint it's not). I can always count on Grant to have my back and I'm glad he'll have it on my wedding day.
Bridesmaid
Rachel (aka Rachie) and I met the day we signed our lease, junior year of college. She was a stranger when I moved in, who quickly became a friend, who became a keystone in my life. Rachel's huge heart made me feel right at home. She makes everywhere feel like home really - it's a superpower of hers. She loves super hard, without judgement, and brings laughter to all environments with her use of cartoon faces and musical narration of everyday life. Rachie shares my blessing/curse of feeling very deeply and leading with her heart. I am so thankful that she does - I can't picture the day without her beautiful sappiness :)
Groomsman
Lucky for me, Robbie and Devin worked at the same company. Also lucky for me is that Robbie is a great guy and is always up for a good time. We've had more than one Saturday turn from a long day on the lake to a long night on Rainey St. I'm glad I get to call Robbie my friend and that he will be there to support Devin and I on our big day.
Bridesmaid + Sister of the Groom
Allie (aka leetle seester) was the person in Justin's family I was most nervous to meet! Though sweet and thoughtful, she is a fierce defender (something I love about her), and I knew I had to win her over if things were going to work out. Fortunately, a game of Cards Against Humanity broke the ice, and she had no choice but to love me ;) or feel bad for me, if you know the story! Allie is one of the most genuine and thoughtful humans. She is incredibly empathetic and is driven by making an impact. She is such a blessing to humanity and someone that I feel very fortunate to call a member of my family.
Groomsman
Like me Stu is a big guy, with a big heart and a big laugh. Maybe that's why we get along so well. Most of the time you can find us playing some card game on his kitchen counter (Stu is the current speed champion of Miriam Ave). The only thing I don't like about Stu is that he makes me look like a clown when we go two-stepping.
Bridesmaid
Kara (aka KK) and I met in one of our business classes. She was so disappointed when she saw my name on her assigned group list, bc she thought I was a boy - making her the only girl in the group #rude. Once she realized I was female, and I forgave her for her oversight, we became fast friends ;) She invited me to her Sorority date party (read, dance party), which is where we truly solidified a forever friendship - one Dougie at a time. KK is one of the funniest people I know, offering endless sarcasm and perfectly timed witty remarks. She is my PIC on the dance floor and constant source of laughter, and I can't wait to laugh the day away with her!
Groomsman
Preston and I go back to our days working at Oracle. He's been my snowboarding partner in crime for the last few years (#shred) and has taught me a thing or two about being a Texan (#pewpew). I'm convinced one day he's going to disappear onto a ranch far from civilization and I'll never see him again but until then I consider myself lucky he's my friend. P.S. He's also the best dressed redneck I've ever met.
