Andrew Allen Hopkinson, born on April 22, 1998, grew up in Lucas, Texas surrounded by his three siblings. He would later attend his dream school, Louisiana State University, which would be the very place he would meet his dream girl. Laura Ann Settoon, born on September 21, 2000, was raised in Denham Springs, Louisiana, alongside her four sisters. She would also attend LSU, and she is forever grateful she did. Growing up 462 miles apart, their paths seemed unlikely to cross. But, on March 24, 2019, at Laura Ann’s sorority soccer tournament, Andrew’s team was crowned the champions. At the time, Andrew served as the President, so he was handed the trophy. Randomly, Laura Ann told a guy she didn’t know to hold up the trophy so she could snap a picture. If you guessed that guy was Andrew, you guessed right! It took a few months, but on August 16, 2019, Andrew asked her to be his girlfriend. Laura Ann Said yes without hesitation, and then she moved 1,172 miles away to a little town called Elizabeth, Colorado. Spoiler alert, long-distance was nothing on these two! On June 1, 2020, Andrew moved to Houston for his first job, and they decided long-distance was no longer an option. So, Laura Ann packed her things and the two of them began their life together. After a few months in Houston, they welcomed their little boy, Otis, home on September 19, 2020. Now their world was complete. On October 25, 2021, Andrew and Laura Ann made the move to Lafayette, Louisiana. They dreamed of planting roots and raising a family in this beautiful and charming little city. Laura Ann definitely let Andrew know she was ready for the next step. On the first day of an amazing family trip to Cabo San Lucas, Laura Ann spent over thirty minutes being dramatic and emotional that Andrew was never going to ask that question. Poor Andrew, ring in his back pocket in all, had to endure her dramatics and console her, without giving any hints. Well, he didn’t. Laura Ann wiped her tears and they headed out for dinner. While walking to meet everyone, they stopped to have a moment on the deck that overlooked the stunning bay right at sunset. Andrew told Laura Ann to turn around for a quick snap. She turned back around to Andrew on one knee, asking that question she dreamed of him since the day she met him. That night they celebrated and took in all the love. On September 22, 2023, Andrew and Laura Ann purchased their first home together in Scott, Louisiana. They finally planted those roots they always dreamed of. Very soon, they will begin their forever united as one, and they can’t wait for what’s in store. Let the countdown to November 8, 2024 begin!
