We chose our wedding venue not only because of its stunning campus and the unique opportunity for an entire wedding weekend, but because the mission and vision of the Carey Institute for Global Good had long resonated with us. It was the perfect place for our wedding and the only place we ever considered. That is part of what make this news especially hard to share: The Carey Institute for Global Good was not able to withstand the effects of COVID and while they will continue their non-profit work, they are selling the campus. They will not be able to host our rescheduled wedding on June 12th, 2021. As much as we still want to have the big, beautiful wedding we had planned, we simply cannot imagine doing that anywhere but the Carey Institute. For these reasons and with the ongoing uncertainty of COVID-19, we are not pursuing another venue or rescheduling again at this time. We do want to have the celebration we so looked forward to and most importantly, with everyone we love, but only once it is safe to do so. In the meantime, we are incredibly happy that we decided not to wait another year to be married. On June 13th we were married in our backyard by one of our best friends and have now celebrated six months of marriage in what continues to be a wild and crazy year! While 2021 might not bring the wedding we had planned either, we are so excited for all the new adventures it will bring. Thank you for your love and support throughout it all, Tyler & Cait
While we can’t have the wedding we planned this year because of the novel coronavirus, we will still get married on our original wedding date and would love to have you join us, virtually! Tune in to our wedding via Zoom on June 13th at 3:30pm EST. To join by computer (recommended), use the link: https://zoom.us/j/97609512188 If you are only able to call in, you can still listen to our ceremony by calling toll-free (855) 880 1246 or (877) 369 0926 and entering the meeting ID: 976 0951 2188 We will renew our vows next year in front of all of you, our friends and family, and celebrate the way we had planned all along next year so please continue to save our postponed date of June 12th, 2021!
After much consideration and out of an abundance of caution, our wedding has been postponed. While we look forward to the story we'll tell our children one day, please stay home and stay safe so that you can celebrate with us in 2021. Have a celebratory drink for us on June 13, 2020 anyways though as we celebrate our original date, one that will always be special. Cheers to new and exciting plans!
After an expertly planned, picture-perfect surprise proposal on the island, we’re getting married! We can’t wait to spend a weekend with you celebrating the start of the rest of our lives together.
