During the month of October, Carolina Beach Pier has a pumpkin patch on the beach where you can enjoy some great food and drinks as well as live music.
This is a really fun bar in Carolina Beach that was voted top 25 dive bar in the nation!
If you are able to visit the downtown Wilmington area, there is a beautiful riverwalk where you can see the WWII Battleship from across the river. There are also some great restaurants and little shops along the riverwalk and along the downtown strip. A few restaurants we really enjoy here are River 128, Prost, and The Copper Penny.
Bald Head Island is an island located right off the southern tip of Wilmington and is only accessible by ferry. There are no cars allowed on the island but you can rent golf carts or bikes to explore the island, grab lunch, and enjoy the beach.
Wilmington will be hosting its annual Wilmington Riverfest in downtown on October 3rd and 4th. This waterfront festival features local vendors, live music, food, arts and crafts, and beautiful views along the Cape Fear River. It’s a fun way to experience the charm of Wilmington, whether you stop by for a few hours or make a day of it. Just keep in mind that the downtown area may be a bit busier than usual during this time—so plan ahead if you’d like to attend!
