Levi and Michelle met in nursing school. They had several classes together and would help each other study. They continued to grow closer and when the school shut down during the pandemic, they stayed in contact including staying up till 5am talking on the phone! Eventually Levi asked Michelle out and they planned their first date...

Because of the pandemic, Levi was living in Warsaw, and Michelle stayed in Fort Wayne. For their first date, Levi traveled all the way to pick Michelle up and meet her parents and ask for their permission to take her out, and bring flowers for her mom to impress her ( it did. She still talks about it to this day!). Levi and Michelle ordered out some Chinese food to take for a picnic to Lakeside Park. Once they got there and got settled, they realized they had no utensils to eat with. A quick trip to a Dollar General and a good laugh helped break the tension and the date quickly resumed.

Michelle went over to Levi's apartment to hangout until his family came over the Tincaps baseball game. They got lunch at their favorite Mexican restaurant, Lalos, and then spent the day doing some regular errands. grocery shopping and going to the craft store to feel all the different yarn. They went back to get meet their family to drive together to the game. They get there and meet with the rest of the family in their matching shirts and head into the fieldhouse. The game went on like normal and they all got some good food and had some good laughs. By the end, the Tincaps won, and everyone got into place to watch the fireworks. The fireworks start and pictures are being taken until then Levi gets down on one knee and says "Surprise! Will you marry me?" Michelle immediately burst into tears and says "yes!" and they spend the rest of time watching the fireworks and are surrounded with loving family. Levi had promised a proposal with fireworks and it just so happened that a family trip to a Fort Wayne Tincaps game also had a fireworks show at the end. During the game whenever Michelle got up, Levi would show the ring to everyone and sneak it back into his pocket before she returned. After the game they moved to a "better spot to see the show" where under the lights of the fireworks Levi dropped down on one knee and said "Surprise! Will you marry me?" Michelle burst into happy tears saying "Yes!" of course and spent the rest of the fireworks as new fiancés.
