Tanner’s mom, René, was at a family birthday party for Caitlin’s side when she struck up a conversation with Caitlin. After just a few minutes, she said, “You need to meet my son!” — and without hesitation, she FaceTimed Tanner right then and there. A week later, Caitlin and Tanner met up in Carlsbad, where Tanner was living at the time. What was meant to be a casual day date — filled with drinks and axe throwing — turned into something unforgettable. The connection was instant. Just days later, Caitlin left for Austin, Texas, but that didn’t slow anything down. They talked every day. A few months later, when Caitlin returned, they made it official and started dating in November 2021. Over the next few years, life brought its share of highs and lows, but one thing remained constant: Caitlin and Tanner always showed up for each other.
