Our Story

The night we met

The night we met

On a warm April night in 2025, we both ended up at a dance event at the Arizona Athletic Center out in the middle of Nowhere, Arizona. This random new guy somehow knew all of my friends... Which felt suspicious, considering I’d been dancing for a year and had never seen or heard of him. We danced, I apologized at least 100 times, but Joe would like it officially noted that I was not nearly as rusty as I claim. At the time, neither of us were looking for anything more than a dance partner... It just wasn’t that kind of season! (or so we thought)

Fast friends & an intentionally slow 6 months...

Fast friends & an intentionally slow 6 months...

We spent the rest of that week dancing together -- magically showing up at the same dancing spots -- and quickly becoming inseparable, with inside jokes forming within the first 24 hours (which, if you know Joe, is pretty on brand). From the very beginning, we both felt this connection was something special. Rather than rushing it, we chose to be intentional. We agreed to withhold “future planning” talk until after the 6 month mark, to give us time to work out some individual topical things like faith, finances, and friendships.

Answered Prayers

Answered Prayers

That first 6 months ended with a month-long solo road trip, and a hundred answered prayers. The Lord blessed this time in immeasurable ways. Joe made the decision to publicly declare his faith and be baptized, we found an incredible community, and both of our work situations shifted in ways we couldn’t have orchestrated ourselves. All the reasons I was giving God of ‘why this wouldn’t work until xyz timing’ – He provided an unexplainable way.

It takes a village

It takes a village

If you’re reading this, this part is about YOU. Our story isn’t just ours. It’s shaped by the people who have supported us, challenged us, and walked alongside us. We truly wouldn’t be here without our family & friends, and we’re so grateful you’re a part of this chapter. One of the laundry list items previously mentioned was that we wanted to have our community solidified before stepping into this new marriage territory. Your friendship and mentorship continues to mean so much. We're looking forward to building this village, and learning how to be better villagers ourselves for the years to come.
