History of Hickory Hill

History of Hickory Hill

Hickory Hill has been part of Nicole’s family for nearly 100 years. The property was purchased in 1930 by her ancestors, Edith and Michael Heintz. Soon after, Nicole’s great-grandparents, Hazel Heintz Currie and Doug Currie, made Hickory Hill their home and raised their family there, including Nicole’s grandmother, Susan Grier. For generations, Hickory Hill has been a place where family and community come together. Originally beginning in the 1940s the property hosted Girl Scout and Boy Scout camps, a tradition that continues today. It has also been the setting for countless family reunions, celebrations, private summer camps and weddings. Today, Nicole’s great-aunt Maryan and great-uncle Jerry lovingly care for Hickory Hill. We are incredibly grateful to them for sharing this special place and allowing us to celebrate our wedding as part of its long family history.
