If you ask Brock when he met Kaitlyn, he will say it was sixth grade. However, Kaitlyn has absolutely no recollection of it. By eighth grade, they became nothing short of best friends, with Brock occasionally trying to flirt his way to more. Only a year later, going into their freshman year of high school, Kaitlyn decided she might just give this boy a chance. On September 28, 2019, Brock got down on one knee, held out a sealing ring from a plastic water bottle, and asked Kaitlyn to be his girlfriend. Not long after that, Kaitlyn began mental health treatment. It is safe to say not many 16 year old boys would stick around during a process as challenging as that, but Brock was different. He stayed by her side, supported her, and loved her unconditionally. With the help of a lovely therapist and psychiatrist, as well as her parents and close family, Kaitlyn grew into the best version of herself. Their senior year of high school, they made a difficult decision, Brock stayed home and decided to work in the refinery, and Kaitlyn chose to chase her dream of attending The University of Texas at Austin. Long distance was no easy feat, but there is nothing like rediscovering the person you love. After five years together, Brock asked Kaitlyn to marry him on March 29, 2025. Kaitlyn has now graduated from UT with her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Brock has worked extremely hard to save his money and invest in their future together. Here’s to coming home!
