HOW WE MET

August 4, 2017

"Why are you going up the stairs with all of that?" Larry asked Tasha who had her hands full. "Because it's good to walk when your limbs work," Tasha replied. After getting off the elevator, Tasha asked Larry, "Are you here for the Talk Show?" "Yeah, some show my cousin asked me to come and DJ." Clearly, Larry did not know he met his wife-to-be. However, within 4 hours, Dr. Tasha and DJ "L Blaze" got to know each other's side gigs real quick. Dr. Tasha gave Larry her card at the end of the night to actually hire him because she thought he DJ'd REALLY well. Larry helped her take her backdrop to the car and they talked over a Sprite in the parking lot for next two hours. Boy, aren't we grateful for Claude, Larry's cousin, who was running the Rooftop Club and comedian Chris Priester, who is Dr. Tasha's co-host that asked Claude to host the "Drive-By Therapy Talk Show" at his spot.

THE PROPOSAL

Super Bowl Sunday

So... before the Super Bowl, we celebrated Larry's grandmother's birthday who was turning the tender age of 90. We were all sitting on the patio overlooking the lake at this delicious Argentinian restaurant. All, meaning: Larry's parents (who have been married 47 years), his Uncle Mike, his great aunt Cat, his 12-year-old son, Elijah, his grandmother, and Tasha with her mom. It was the perfect set-up that Larry planned to pop the question. Tasha shows up 5 minutes late with flowers for grandma having no clue what is about to happen. In her "Dr. Tasha" fashion, she comes up with a lunch discussion topic: "What was your favorite birthday gift received through the years?" After everyone goes around the table, Larry who Tasha calls "L," starts saying, "I hope to give my grandmother the most memorable birthday gift-to-date because I want to spend the rest of my life with..." You know the rest. He really did it. Now, he is getting Tasha her dream ring made: a black diamond ring, just in time for the wedding. As for why March 31st, in the middle of the week? Dr. Tasha wanted to get married on her dad's birthday. Oh yes, she gave herself 7 weeks to plan a wedding.
