Everlasting Love Ten Years In The Making

Blind Date 09.28.09 1st Official Date 10.28.09 Reunited 07.06.14 Moved in 11.30.14 Proposed 09.19.19 Decided on 4Ever 10.25.20

So in the Summer of 2009, Robert and I met twice in passing in Downtown Orlando. We didn't make a connection so we thought nothing of it and kept it moving. A few months later, little to our knowledge his childhood friend and my sister Denisea were dating at the time. My sister's bf invited us to hang for a weekend in September to celebrate hers and my bday since they're 3 days apart. That's when Robert and I officially met. Come to find out it was a bit of a set up or blind date in other words on his friends part. We went to a club and then to Steak and Shake afterwards where we talked and got to know a little bit about each other. We exchanged numbers, talked for a few weeks before our official first date a month later, October 28th. We then dated for about 2 years before breaking it off. We remained friends for almost 3 years before finding our way back to each other Spring 2014. We made it offical again July 6, 2014. Rented our first condo together November 30, 2014 where we lived for 5 years. We went through so much of life's up and downs in the course of all those years together. From the passing of my mother in 2011 and his father's passing in 2014. Rob being injured in a car accident that left us both carless for several months. To us getting a new car off the lot. Both of us traveling out of the country for our first time. Getting our CDLs and so much more. Until boom my 29th birthday. 10 years after meeting and dating on September 19, 2019 at 9:19 p.m. in the comfort of our home Robert got down on one knee while holding my hand and said; "I've been trying to find the right time to do this all day. Shawna Vantray Stafford, WILL YOU MARRY ME?!" Happy, relieved, and excited, I replied 'YES! DUH, I WILL! And the rest is history.
