It all started on a Saturday afternoon. Janae was halfway through her shift at the home decor store and the day was just dragging on. She'd hoped someone would come through her line and shake things up a bit. It was the height of covid so masks weren't optional. It was always a game for Janae trying to guess what the next customers bone structure, nose and mouth looked like. Motioning for the next guest to come up to her register, a Mr. Clean toilet brush plopped down on the counter. Janae couldn't help but silently giggle a bit underneath her mask. It was the only thing the customer was buying. His face was covered by his mask but Janae did take notice of his brown dreads and glasses that sat on his nose. Just like normal she rang him up and he was on his way. Janae couldn't help but sense a bit of hesitation when he went to walk away. As he got to the sliding glass exit doors he abruptly turned around, came back up to the counter and asked if Janae was single. She said yes, and he then proceeded to ask for her number. As he left Janae truly thought nothing would come about this interaction but little did she know she had just given her number to her future husband, Aaron. (Aaron says to this day he took a risk not knowing what Janae’s face looked like and that it could’ve been good or really, really bad but the odds were in his favor!) That same evening as her shift was coming to an end Janae received a text. To her surprise it was the Aaron! (She also later found out he was furnishing his new apartment he’d just moved into, hence the toilet brush LOL!) Janae tried as long as she could to be an introvert and not go on a first date but his charm convinced her. They spent their first date eating tacos in the parking lot of one of their now favorite spots. After that they went from texting to sleeping through every night on the phone together to spending almost every day together. Janae would drive to and from his apartment. Watching movies, listening to music, cooking together. One night randomly Aaron spoke the 3 words to Janae, I love you. Janae was smitten. A year after dating they decided to take the next step and find a home together! Next came their puppy, Lil George. Talks about proposing had been in the air but Janae still wasn’t sure when it would happen. She knew he had gotten his moms ring passed down to him. It was on a Tuesday afternoon while working from home Janae became the happiest girl in the world. Aaron walked up the stairs in their home, met her at her computer desk and said “marry me?” OF COURSE she said yes and squealed with joy!! It was the most perfect and intimate moment in their home they shared. Since then, they’ve enjoyed spending life together and have made so many new memories including the adoption of their second pup, little miss Chai. They couldn’t imagine life any different. Now *spoiler* they did elope and have the most intimate wedding right in their little ole town of Clarksville. But they’d always planned to ring in the celebration with friends and family and that’s what will be going down on June 28th, 2025! See ya there! (;
