I will never forget the day I met my soulmate! As I am trying to give you the background of Danni and I’s story, my first thought is it all happened because of friends I made playing soccer! Soccer has been a huge part of my life, from the time I was 4 years old, to playing in college, and even to this day I still play. So It really all started in 2022 on St. Patricks day. The only reason that I ended up in the same place, at the exact time as Danni, was because of the guys on my soccer team! When my teammates found out my birthday was coming up, they told me that they were going to a concert at Elevation in downtown Grand Rapids, and that I should go with them! At this time I was in the middle of completely renovating my house, which was down to the studs and subfloor, so I could not commit to going. Fast forward 1 week, the day of the concert, my Mom & Todd came up to help me finish some of my house projects. With their help we got so much done! The entire day my teammates were texting me and trying to convince me to still go with them to the concert. I felt I had reached a stopping point on the house projects, so I asked my mom and Todd to drop me off at the concert on their way home (that way I could uber home). They dropped me off downtown at one of my teammates condos, at this point I had no idea who was going to be there. When I walked in there was a huge party going on and everyone was in their 90s gear! All guys I had played soccer with at some point, with their wives and/or girlfriends. We hung out at his condo for about an hour and then walked to Elevation for the concert. We were able to get in early enough to make our way to the front row! I noticed that my beer was empty so I went up to the bar to get a refill. When I got to the bar (there are at least 4 different bars at Elevation) there was a huge line, and it was very clear where the line started. As I was looking around I looked to my right and THERE SHE WAS! The most gorgeous woman I had ever seen in my entire 30 years of life! Fellas know what I mean, when I say she was so gorgeous that I was INSTANTLY nervous. I didn’t know how I was going to talk to her, but I knew I had to shoot my shot. So my first words to Danni were, “Hi is this where the line starts?” She replays “ yes I think so” and we talked non stop from that point on. As we approached the bar, I asked her favorite drink. While the bartender was serving us, I asked for Danni’s phone number. She said, “I have a kid! Your going to ask for my number that quick? And I replied back “I don’t care if you have a kid or not I want your number” We went our separate ways for the night, but I kept trying to meet up with her afterwords. She had already left the concert but thought about coming back out for a drink with me. But that didn’t happen. A coupe of days go by of us texting so I asked her on a date that Wednesday night. She agreed! Fast forward to that Wednesday 2 hours before our date, and Danni tried to cancel on me. But being the salesperson I am, the first No is when the conversation actually begins lol so I immediately pushed back and convinced her to come for a drink. That night I knew I was going to marry this woman. I was feeling so confident that I sang karaoke! Which is not something I typically do, let alone on a first date. From that point on I was never going to let her go. Ever. I am so excited to marry her and live the rest of our lives together!
