Mykala: Jack played tennis for FSU, I swam. Go Noles. I was out with my swim friends at our favorite bar, Township. Jack was out with tennis friends. We ended up combining tables and when I turned around, Jack was sitting next to me...I'll let him tell you how that happened. He talked about his love of sports, Up North Michigan, and the Lord. That is all it took. He left flowers on my car at church, donuts at my door, and when I moved to Gainesville for nursing school a few weeks after we met? You best believe he drove down to me every single weekend without fail. I've always known he was "the one". Jack: My group and I had just entered our favorite bar when one of my friends immediately went over to the nearest random table to start up a conversation. I quickly realized that I knew a few of the faces sitting there however the one girl I did not recognize was the one who's curled blonde hair and bright blue eyes made me feel like I had the Florida State Drum line playing in my chest. I was sitting on one end of the table and her on the other until with some luck, I was able to quietly switch seats with our mutual friend who was rooting me on. I found out she was from Michigan and that she went to high school across the street from where my family lived. There is a good chance that on our Thanksgiving trips I drove by her house without even knowing that's where my future wife lived. Anyway, it turns out we also both grew up vacationing in Northern Michigan! Again there is a small chance we passed each other by as little kids years before even meeting each other. I truly believe God was just waiting for the perfect moment to bring us together. Well seconds turned to minutes and minutes turned to hours of talking and the night flew by. I was able to get her name, number and the rest is history.
