Our first official date was at Mezcal in Owings Mills, MD. Will got the chicken quesadilla, Emily got the chicken fajitas, and we both shared the guacamole—Emily’s favorite! We both instantly felt a connection, and it seemed as though that we had known each other for years. The conversation was so easy that we talked for hours. After leaving Mezcal and going our separate ways, we both knew that we shared something special.
We both quickly became best friends, and we knew we wanted to be more than just friends. Emily was nervous for this step, but Will was confident we should take the leap. Not long after officially dating, we both exchanged an “I love you.”
After more than 6.5 years together, we were both ready to start the next chapter of our relationship. Will had been planning for a few months to propose, and once everything fell into place, we planned a typical fall Sunday afternoon at our favorite golf course, Whiskey Creek. Will was eager for his round and more than ready to pop the question. Only moments before teeing off, Will got down on one knee in front of the clubhouse, and the rest is history!
