Florence Airport, Peretola (FLR)

We would recommend flying into the Florence airport (FLR). Taxis are available to get from the airport to your hotel or Dimora Ghirlandaio. Florence is also very well connected by Italy’s high-speed rail system, making it easy to reach from major European cities. Getting to Florence from other cities in Italy: • From Bologna airport: Take the Marconi Express to Bologna Centrale (10 minutes), then a 35-minute high-speed train to Florence (<1 hr total travel time). • From Pisa airport: Take the Pisa Mover shuttle to Pisa Centrale, then a 50-minute regional train to Florence SMN. • From Rome airport: Take the Leonardo Express to Roma Termini, then a high-speed train to Florence (1 hr 30 mins). Total travel time is ~2 hours • From Milan airport: Take the airport shuttle to Milano Centrale, then a high-speed train to Firenze Santa Maria Novella (SMN). The train ride takes about 1 hr 55 mins, and trains run frequently. • From Venice airport: Take the ATVO or ACTV bus to Venezia Mestre or Venezia Santa Lucia station, then a high-speed train to Florence (approximately 2 hours). Total travel time is 2.5-3 hours depending on connections.

Transportation

We will provide shuttles for guests staying in the Florence city center to transport you to and from the welcome party and wedding. Shuttles will also be available to transport guests staying at Dimora Ghirlandaio to the rehearsal dinner in Florence. A more detailed shuttle itinerary will be shared closer to the wedding weekend. Guests who are not staying in Florence are welcome to rent a car and explore Tuscany throughout the weekend. Dimora Ghirlandaio offers complimentary parking. If you are staying in Florence, renting a car is not recommended. Florence’s historic city center is a ZTL (Zona a Traffico Limitato), which means most cars are not allowed to drive through it.
