How We Met

Summer '22

We both attended The University of Tennessee and were active in D9, moving in some of the same spaces, yet somehow we never crossed paths. Looking back, it feels like timing was everything. It was not until we both started working at the Wesley House that our story truly began. What started as a casual Taco Tuesday after payday, just good food and easy conversation, slowly turned into something neither of us expected. From the very beginning, there was a natural connection. We laughed without trying, shared stories like we had known each other for years, and found comfort in the little moments. Conversations that started over tacos stretched into late nights, filled with dreams, memories, and quiet understanding. Somewhere along the way, we realized we were becoming exactly what the other had been missing, like two pieces finally fitting together in a way that just made sense. As time passed, what we built only grew stronger. We chose each other again and again through every new chapter. We traveled and created memories in new places, took a leap of faith and moved to a new state, and embraced all the change that came with building a life together. Through it all, we have remained grounded in laughter, love, and the friendship that started it all. Our journey has brought us to one of our greatest blessings, welcoming our baby and stepping into this new season as a family. What began as a simple Taco Tuesday turned into a love story that continues to unfold, full of growth, partnership, and a deep sense of home in one another.
