Start spreading the booze, we're getting hitched!

The year was 2018 and Ava was celebrating her 22nd birthday. Garrett was tasked with bringing beers down to the bars in Fort Collins so Ava and friends could do a celebratory shotgun. Garrett didn't know Ava at the time, but quickly became impatient and annoyed when it took Ava over 15 minutes to make her way outside and participate in the celebration. All he could see was an obnoxious birthday balloon that was tied to Ava's wrist make it's way to the exit several times until it abruptly kept being yanked back towards the bar. It's safe to say, it wasn't love at first sight. It wasnt until about 3 months later that Garrett & Ava would start talking and actually get to know each other. It only took a couple of weeks for Garrett to ask Ava to be his girlfriend, and it was pretty much around the same time Garrett realized this would be the girl he married. Ava waited until the first official date to admit to herself that Garrett was the one. There was never a doubt in either of their minds that their relationship would be everlasting. Garrett & Ava found a best friend in one another, and have never looked back since. Day after day they found their love for each other growing more and more, and recognizing that Ava was the favorite amongst family and friends, it was only a matter of time before Garrett asked her to marry him. The stage was set and Garrett had the ring, with plans to propose to Ava in Hawaii. The last thing Garrett needed to do prior to leaving for Hawaii was to get permission from Ava’s parents, in particular her dad Paul. Six days prior to the planned proposal date, Garrett asked Paul & Ann for their permission to ask for Ava’s hand in marriage. As we all know God works in mysterious ways, and after over a year of battling injuries and deteriorating health, Paul found the strength and will to make himself more present and in the moment than Garrett had previously experienced. The special moment between Ava’s parents and Garrett was one that will not soon be forgotten, and after getting the "ok" from the parents, Ava and Garrett were off to Hawaii. On a beautiful Friday afternoon, on a picture perfect beach, Garrett dropped down on one knee and asked Ava to marry him. It was the happiest day of their lives! The following day, God knew that all of Paul's girls were taken care of so knew that Paul was ready to make his way to heaven and finally be relieved of his pain. We lost a great man that day, but gained a beautiful angel who now watches over Ava and Garrett from the best seat in the house. Garrett and Ava's journey has taken them from Colorado to Austin, Texas where they now own their very first home with their pups, Maisie and Mowgli! They can't wait to return to Colorado to celebrate their love with all of their favorite people.
