It all started one magical night at Don’s Club Tavern—a Denver dive bar with sticky floors, strong drinks, and just the right dose of serendipity. Dana was out with her girlfriends, celebrating her latest move with a toast to new beginnings. Jack was there with his buddies, completely unaware that the most important chapter of his life was about to begin. The details of who approached who first remain delightfully fuzzy, but what we do know is this: sparks flew the moment we started talking. Conversations about backcountry skiing turned into easy laughter, and before long, Jack decided he couldn’t wait another second to seal the deal. In the middle of the bar, he dropped to one knee and “proposed.” (No, there wasn’t a ring. Yes, he asked at least three times. And somehow, Dana didn’t run away.) Two years and countless adventures later, Jack made good on that impromptu promise, this time with a ring and a question that needed only one answer. Proof that sometimes, love finds you in the most unexpected places—even a dive bar with sticky floors. And we can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with you!
Our love story came full circle in the mountains where it all began. One of our first dates—and our first backcountry ski together—was to Mayflower Gulch, outside Breckenridge, CO. It was the perfect day: breathtaking views, skiing adventures, après drinks at RMU, and a dinner that left us glowing. Jack decided to recreate that day for the proposal, complete with a secret trip to scout the spot and plan every detail. But, as the mountains often remind us, plans sometimes need to change. On the big day, weather had other ideas, so Jack pivoted, leading us to a stunning overlook in the mountains instead. With the sun shining and the mountains as our witness, he got down on one knee. The surprises didn’t stop there. When we arrived at RMU afterward to toast to the promise of forever, all of our closest friends were waiting on the deck outside to celebrate with us. Jack had even rented a cozy Airbnb for everyone to stay the night. We ended the day with a beautiful dinner and a night full of love, laughter, and the kind of joy you never forget.
