The light of my life.

We met in Drivers Ed during our sophomore year in High School. She was smart and beautiful and I was... well, a little clueless. I missed all the hints and it took me months to finally ask her out. Somewhere during our first date she told me, “Everyone has that one person they are meant for in life” and I thought…. She’s a little bit crazy. We dated for six months before we each went our separate ways. I went wild and she stood back and rolled her eyes. We did a good job of staying clear of each other until the following year. Then fate stepped in. We were both headed to an art festival with no clue that we were going with the same group of friends in the same vehicle. That's when it hit me, “Everyone DOES have that one person they are meant for in life, and she was mine." I'm sure she was thinking he is a little crazy, but from that day forward I worked my way back into her heart. We were closer than ever before and it was time for me to meet the parents. I served my time as the pinche gringo and eventually was accepted into family. I let them know I planned to stay, however, I also had plans to join the military and see the world. It started out an awesome plan. But the longer we were together and the closer we became, the harder it was to leave. Before I knew it, I was on my way to boot camp with no idea how long it would be before I saw her again.

Somehow we got lucky and when things settled down nearly a year later, I landed in San Diego. Only a two hour flight away. Thank God for technology and cell phones! We still talk every day, and we take turns flying out to visit each other. The love continues to grow, and I have known for a while, that she is the one. Before I knew it I found myself looking at rings and devising a plan to make the most beautiful women, my best friend, and the person who I wanted to spend the rest of my life with; my wife.

As my plans to marry this amazing women developed, my dream of seeing the world became a reality. I received orders to Okinawa, Japan, where I would be living for the next three years. After pulling a few strings I was given the opportunity to bring my future wife with me. Alexcy and I were both ecstatic when we got the news. However, we quickly realized that the wedding that was to take place next year would now happen by Christmas. So, the furious planning of a wedding and anticipation of an overseas adventure is going strong. We hope to see you all on our special day!
