We were friends for many years prior to the start of our love story. We grew closer in our group of friends, several of them are in the wedding party. Our switch from friends to lovers began a weekend night in January. A group of us had left Pint Central and returned to Shane and Giaky's house on Stratford Ave. when we were outside “dancing” to Ed Sheeran. I quote dancing because Shane and I both have two left feet--you’ll get to witness for yourself at the wedding. I looked up at him and we shared our first kiss. We went on several dates leading up to the St Patricks day bar crawl in Charlotte where Shane asked me to be his girlfriend.
December 9th- a chilly Sunday in Pittsburgh, PA Shane took Evelyn and I to Phipps Conservatory to see the lights. (If you’re ever in Pittsburgh definitely check it out, anytime of the year is beautiful!) We enjoyed our hot chocolates as we walked around taking in all the displays. As we walked out of the conservatory the lines had disappeared and it was just us. I turned to ask him what was taking so long and he was down on one knee in front of this beautifully lit tree. I couldn't believe my eyes, I literally had to ask if he was serious and of course said YES!
