Welcome, to our love story

I remember the first time we crossed paths at a Redeemed Church rehearsal. We didn’t exchange any pleasantries then, just a few people in the same room, each caught up in their worlds. Our next meeting was at Niger Delta University (NDU). My friend Evans introduced her to me, mentioning that she had just gained admission into the Civil Engineering department. Since we were in the same faculty, we occasionally met for engineering mathematics and statistics classes. Years went by. We graduated, completed NYSC, and drifted into our lives, chatting only once or twice a year. Then, one day, while I was in Warri, Delta State, I saw her WhatsApp status. It was vibrant and warm, and from her posts, I realized she was also in Warri. I reached out on a whim, and we agreed to meet just to catch up and see where life had taken us. We met, reminisced, and shared our stories, and something shifted within me. Some thoughts began to well up inside. This is somebody to be with; why had I never seen her in this light? I couldn’t shake the idea off my head. What I had been searching for all along had been right there before me. It was a moment of revelation and realization. After we parted ways that night, I called her again and asked if we could meet the next day, and she said yes. And from that moment...…… Stay tuned for part two... cheers to a journey of forever

On the 7th of October 2023, I got a message from my old-time university friend commenting on my posts, and he suggested we link up since it’s ages; fast forward to a week, and we meet up and reminisce down memory lane; I never knew this would be a journey of a lifetime. He asked to be more than friends, and it became a long wait before I said YES on the 7th of February 2024. What changed after I said YES? His personality, something is intriguing about it, I don't know if its cause I said, yes: he’s confident, determined, and most of all, God-fearing; these qualities hold a firm place in my heart. I fell in love with this man, and it has been one of my best decisions. What would you say makes you guys a power couple? One beautiful thing in our personalities is the ability to listen and understand our similarities and differences and be ready and mature enough to make things work. Another thing is resolving conflict, extensively discussing any misunderstanding and ensuring it doesn’t linger till the next day. Did I stress Him? Of course not; I don’t think I did, though. He might say I did at the beginning, but once I knew he was the one, his stress was over. What’s the story behind the Civil-mechanic? Tutoring me in Engineering Mathematics, precisely MTH 105&106, has sealed a lifelong commitment. I never imagined that this man who tutored me to pass my exams would later be my better half. Indeed, God is wonderful.
