Mount Rainier National Park and its surrounding area has so much to offer! If you're up for hiking, there are endless trails, with one of our favorites being Tolmie Fire Lookout. However, if you're not one to walk around aimlessly in the woods, there are plenty of incredible views that are captured by car, driving up to the Paradise visitor center. There are also several forest service roads you can drive up, including the one where we got engaged!
Olympic National Park is one of our favorites. With access to the park and national forest just a few hours away, we've loved hiking throughout several areas. The only rainforest in the United States is located here, the Hoh Rainforest. A few of our favorite hikes consist of: Mount Ellinor, Mount Storm King, and Murhut Falls. You can also drive-up Mount Walker for two gorgeous views: one of the "East" - Seattle, and one of the "West" Quilcene. While at the top, you may get some camp robbers (birds) that will literally eat right out of your hand!
Scenic Beach State Park is in Seabeck, which is only a 20-minute drive from our home! It offers stunning views of the Olympic Mountain range. We love going there to not only take in the views, but also to skip rocks and act like kids again.
Ruston Way Waterfront is in Tacoma. There's a beautiful view of the Puget Sound, you can ride bikes, walk, eat and enjoy a beautiful, sunny summer day!
Bremerton is a ferry ride away from Seattle, where you can walk to Pike's Place Market. Pike's Place always has fresh flowers, flying fish, a unique gum wall, and many local vendors who sell handmade items.
