Nope! The Welcome Party and Dessert Party do not require a park ticket. The only activity that does require a ticket will be the day in EPCOT or any additional days you plan to visit on your own.
Yes! We know many of our friends have children, and what better wedding to bring them to than a Disney wedding! Although, we also understand needing a parents' weekend away, so it's up to you!
Absolutely not! Staying on Disney property definitely has its perks (e.g. being close to the wedding venues, having access to free Disney transportation, and of course, Disney theming and Disney cast members on site to ensure your stay is magical.) However, we also understand that not everyone wants to stay at a Disney hotel, which is totally fine! You can also stay at a local "Good Neighbor" hotel (partnered with Disney for close access to the parks, but not a Disney hotel), or at a local AirBnB.
