They met in 2014 when they both moved to Sacramento. The first time Alisa saw Jonathan was at one of the "meet up" groups at church. When Jonathan arrived at the party Alisa's sister turned to her and asked, "What about him?". Alisa's response was an immediate no because of his age. A couple weeks go by and they both officially met at a BBQ. At the BBQ, Jonathan mentioned he was looking for people to join his Junior High Team. Alisa also talked about looking to get involved so they decided to get coffee to see if she would be a good fit for the team. The next week they got coffee and talked about life for 5 hours. They knew they would be good friends but there still no interest on either side. They didn't see each other again for 6 months.
In 2016, Jonathan and Alisa were living in the same neighborhood. Alisa was really good friends with one of Jonathan roommates. She started coming over and spending most of her time at the guy's house. After awhile, Alisa and her friend started "BFW" ( Best Friend Wednesday) where they would hang out every Wednesday night and do something fun. Jonathan's roommates started to join in on BFW and soon it was a whole group meeting up every Wednesday to hang out. Jonathan normally worked Wednesday nights, however one evening he was home. Alisa invited him to join BFW that night and from then on Jonathan never missed a Wednesday night. This was the start of Alisa and Jonathan building a beautiful friendship and a summer they would never forget.
After hanging out all summer Alisa and Jonathan knew something was there. Anyone who would hang out with them together, knew something was there. It was so undeniable they decided they needed to talk about what was going on. When they met to talk, the conversation went in the direction of "we don't know each other enough" to begin to date. They kept denying there was anything there but their actions spoke louder then there words. Everyone could see it. After a couple more of those "no we can't date talks" they decided they needed to make a decision. They both were traveling to different states in the same week so they took that time to figure out what they should do. While they were away, there friends they were with gave them both a very similar talk about setting fear aside and going for it. When they were reunited they decided talk about what there decision was. They both talked about the conversation they had with their friends and how fear was the biggest contributor to why they weren't dating. In the end, Jonathan asked Alisa if he could pursue her and she agreed. This was the start of one of the greatest seasons of love and growth they would enter.
