Maid of Honor
Briana and I have been best friends since I was 13. We met when I was in 8th grade and she was a freshman. Briana has the kind of personality that everyone is just drawn to. She is the comedic relief in every situation, so naturally I wanted to be her friend so bad. Now I am stuck with her. I can't really pinpoint a day when our friendship started, but I also can't picture a memory without her in it. Briana and I have the friendship that no matter how much time has passed, we pick right back up where we left off. The most consistent friend I have ever known, Briana has been the sister I never had. Through every season of life, she has been by my side and I am incredibly thankful for over 10 years of this friendship.

Carrie and I met at "Day 1" at Howard Payne University. We were both committed to play soccer there, and we had the opportunity to meet our new teammates at a camp. I went in not knowing a single person. We're getting our cleats on and I hear, "who needs a roommate?" I raised my hand and the rest is history. Carrie and I lived together in college for 3 years and quickly became inseparable. We have seen each other at our lowest of lows and highest of highs, and I can honestly say we are better for the things we have been through together.

Del and I met before we actually became friends. Del is a year older than I am, and when I was still in high school, I played in a soccer tournament in Stephenville. The game was physical, and I got fouled repeatedly. One of the fouls that was called, I was on the ground, obviously not happy, and the official asks if I'm okay, and I snapped at her. Game ends, and the official comes up to me and tells me, "good game, by the way I am your goalkeeper next year at Howard Payne." Del was the first teammate I met at Howard Payne and it obviously was not in the most friendly setting. Del and I lived together in college and she was (and still is) my emotional support person. She's the voice of reason in every situation so I knew she was right when she said Giff is a good guy.

I first met Kim at a family friend's wedding. The whole night, Kim and my other sister-in-law, Paxton, were giving me the best life advice I could have heard at that time. They were both in happy, healthy relationships and I was not. They were talking about how well my brothers treat them and what I truly deserve in a boyfriend. Coincidentally, they both also knew I was lying when I said that Giff was "just a friend." My favorite memory of Kim is when we were at my parent's house and I was watching the live stream of the Howard Payne baseball game. I told everyone that it was a great game and I just wanted to support my school, when in reality I wanted to watch the cute guy who wore #17. Kim and Paxton immediately ask "who's the boy," and I knew there was no getting out of that one. I look up to Kim in so many ways, and I am thankful that she gave me my favorite title, Aunt KK. Watching her become a mom has been the greatest blessing and I am so incredibly blessed with the most genuine human being in my corner.

I met Paxton at my cousin's graduation party in San Antonio. The only thing I knew about Paxton before I met her was the she was dating my brother and she was a Texas Tech cheerleader, so obviously I was intimidated to meet her. When she walked up, we shook hands, said our hellos, and then kind of went our own separate ways at the party. Later that day, I am sitting with the family on the back porch and Paxton starts talking about how she has never and probably will never burp because of her tight throat sphincter, (no I am not kidding.) Talking more with her, she starts talking about how funny farts are, and thank Goodness for that because she was dating Jack at the time and you need a good sense of humor to put up with him. Since then, Paxton has been another perfect addition to my family. Her sense of humor lights up every room and she is always my first call for fashion advice. Her and Jack got married in October of 2023, but I already called her my sister-in-law well before that. I got to stand by her on her special day, and now she gets to stand by me on mine!

Burf and I met at HPU, playing baseball. My roadtrip roomie, my outfield buddy, from our mid game conversations in the outfield to our midnight talks in the hotel when his ADHD is at its worst. I’ll always have a special place in my heart for my “pookie bear.”

First time I met Kayden, I thought he was some weird private school kid. Turns out I was right. After a while we grew on me and quickly became one of the funniest guys I know. From our weekly Fuzzy’s dates to our rap sessions in the truck, Kayden will be the life of the party.
