We’ve known each other for almost ten years through our church, but for most of that time we never really crossed paths. Our first interaction definitely didn’t set the stage for romance either. Kaley remembers noticing Gibran’s beautiful green eyes and thinking he seemed charming… but that charm disappeared very quickly when she was assigned to serve in his ministry and he got her in trouble for doing something wrong (which, by the way, was not her fault! Okay…maybe it was her fault.). From that moment on, she was not his biggest fan. For years we simply existed in the same church. Eventually Kaley went off to college while Gibran continued life back at home. Everything changed in 2023 when we started interacting more and slowly became friends. Most of our conversations weren’t calm or peaceful—honestly they were usually filled with playful bickering, teasing, and debating about just about everything. Somehow though, that constant back-and-forth turned into a real friendship. One night after a youth conference at our church, while we were once again going back and forth about life and relationships, Gibran told Kaley, “You shouldn’t aspire to live a life alone.” That comment really caught her off guard and struck a chord. At the time it felt like just another moment in our usual banter, but little did we know that God had already been writing a much bigger story. Through honest conversations, lots of laughter, deep and vulnerable moments, and Gibran eventually deciding to pursue Kaley, the Lord began working in both of our hearts. What started as friendly arguments turned into something neither of us expected—a relationship full of love, intentional courtship, growth, and so much joy. As we spent more time talking—just the two of us—we began to realize that God had quietly fulfilled a dream we had both carried in our hearts: to have someone by our side to walk through life and faith with. Looking back, we can clearly see how faithful and good the Lord has been—not only in giving us the gift of each other, but also in surrounding us with the love and support of our family and friends. We’re so grateful for the story He’s written and can’t wait to begin this next chapter together. As we enter this next chapter of our lives together, we just want to say thank you. Thank you for all the love and support you’ve shown us and for wanting to celebrate us, our love, and what the future holds. Thank you for your prayers, your encouragement, and for walking alongside us as we navigate this exciting—but sometimes stressful—season of our lives. Thank you for rooting for us and praying for us, even in moments when we didn’t know you were. We love you all and are so grateful for the community God has placed around us. We hope you’ll join us as we begin our life together under the union of Christ and celebrate all that He has in store for our future.
