Our Story

"Just Friends"

We met during our first week as freshmen at Furman (2018) and had an instant connection. We quickly became friends, didn’t go a day without talking, and even ended up working the same job at the student center on campus. People constantly assumed we were dating. In trying to prove them wrong, we drifted apart for a little while. But I guess God had a plan in mind... When junior year rolled around (2020), and we returned to Furman after a semester off due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we bumped into each other at work and talked for about 30 seconds. That was all it took. We instantly fell back into the same friendship we’d had in 2018. At the time, Furman had a rule that you had to create a “bubble” of four people you could be within six feet of due to COVID. That same day, Josh invited Lindsay and her roommate (Anna) to play games and be part of his "bubble". From then on, there were daily study sessions (Josh studying for the MCAT while Lindsay texted her friends about Josh), weekend wine nights, hockey games, and hungover mornings at the dining hall. We now realize we were living our lives side by side, still insisting to the world that we were “just friends.” As senior year unfolded and graduation got closer, it became harder to imagine a future without each other. On New Year’s Day 2022, we finally admitted we were more than friends and that we didn’t see a future without each other. Today, we still get to call each other best friends, but now we know just how special it is to marry one too. Here's to being best friends forever! ❤️
