“Snappy Casual” / Garden Party Attire Think relaxed but polished. For women: Summer dresses, flowy skirts, or chic jumpsuits For men: Collared shirts (polos or button-downs), chinos, or khakis While it’s a casual celebration, we kindly ask that guests skip jeans, shorts, or overly casual wear. Expect warm August weather typical of Tennessee—dress smartly and comfortably for the Southern heat. Cocktail hour between the ceremony and reception will be on a covered veranda outside with fans. Everything else will be inside with air conditioning, so those who get chilly may want to bring a light cardigan or jacket.
Yes, there is plenty of free parking on-site at The Barn at Sycamore Farms where the wedding ceremony/reception is being held.
Our flower girl will be none other than Andrew's sweet daughter Louise. She is seven years old and entering the second grade in August 2025. She loves animals, learning all kinds of fun facts, reading, playing games, making friends, telling jokes, going to church, making crafts, traveling, and more! Her favorite animal is an axolotl ... an axo-what? ... a salamander-type animal with its only native habitat, Lake Xochimilco in Mexico City. Their unusual appearance, including their permanent smile and youthful features, has contributed to their popularity. Louise wants to be a traveling exotic animal veterinarian. She has a huge repertoire of jokes, so please feel free to ask her for one ... though you might get lucky and get several!
Andrew and Laura are both corporate professionals who actually serve the overlapping industries of life science and healthcare. Andrew is a Senior Principal Security Client Partner and the Healthcare and Life Science Cybersecurity Sales Leader for NTT Data. NTT Data is a Japanese multinational information technology service and consulting company headquartered in Tokyo, which is recognized for their leadership in Generative AI and strategic consulting. They are part of the global telecom NTT, the creators of the original emojis, and have over 40% of web traffic flowing through their platform. For IndyCar fans, you'll recognize them as the lead sponsor. Andrew travels frequently to meet with customers and prospects as well as to attend and present at industry conferences. Laura is the Head of Pricing Business Partners for MilliporeSigma, the Life Science division of Merck KGaA. Merck KGaA is still majority family-owned after over 350 years in business and not to be confused with the pharmaceutical company Merck in the US & Canada, which took the Merck name during WWI. She has direct reports based in Darmstadt, Germany (Merck headquarters) and Saint Louis (former headquarters of Sigma-Aldrich before they were acquired by Millipore). If you visit a college campus and look around a biology or chemistry lab, they make or sell almost everything in there. Her team works with product managers to ensure their list prices are optimized around the world. This includes ~600K SKUs which get priced into almost 60 price lists, representing 35 million prices around the world. She does a lot of work in Palantir, a data lake that can handle this huge volume, Zilliant, a Pricing solution, and good ol' Excel. She works from home and has traveled to Germany three times for work (twice in 2022 & once in 2024), but unlike Andrew, work travel is quite rare. She has yet to tap into Andrew's German language fluency in communicating with her colleagues. :-)
