Alex and I met on a blind date - awkward right? Nope! Our mutual friends talked us up to each other for months before our first date. In October, I finally got the text message asking if I wanted to meet him for dinner. On October 25th, 2017 we met at Cabo Fish Taco in NODA. We immediately clicked and ended up sitting at our table for almost 4 hours with awesome conversation and a few Corona Lights (have to ease the first date nerves somehow!). Since that day we have been inseparable and a little (a lot) obsessed with Cabo Fish Taco.
Alex and I decided to go to Charleston for the weekend since my work schedule was changing and I would have to start working Saturday's. Once we got to Charleston on May 31st, 2019 our hotel situation was a mess; they put us in the wrong room, then we had to lug our bags through a humid un-air conditioned hallway just to get moved to the correct room which was right by the front desk... so the trip started out slightly on edge. We had dinner reservations that night and Alex was being extra romantic, so I somewhat had a suspicion something was up. The next day (June 1st) we woke up around 5am to go see the sunrise at Battery Park. The sun was starting to rise and Alex looked at me and said, "Can I let you in on a little secret? This weekend isn't just a little getaway. I have something that I need to ask you". That's when my heart sunk to my gut and my eyes started welling and I squealed "Is this happening?!" After that he told me to close my eyes (I blacked out while he was getting the ring out), I opened my eyes and he was down on one knee asking me to marry him. I was basically in shock so all I could squeeze out was "MMMHMMM!!!". I tried to jump hug Alex after he put the ring on my finger, but his knees were shaking so much we almost fell over. This day was the most romantic magical day of our lives that we will never forget.
