Welcome! Thank you to those that journeyed with us to say “I Do!”

Long long (LONG) ago… OKAY, no! Not starting this way! Our story is about 2 people going into a new situation, completely clueless about what would come out of it. He happened to be a customer that I would contact for vendor pickups, as both of us work in the logistics industry. Work conversation led to personal, which then led to me finding something in myself that I never though I had…COURAGE. I asked him for his number! From that day on, we talked everyday for a month. Phone calls, texts and photo swaps constantly. We finally decided it was time to take it to the next level: meet in person. It was nervewracking to wait but the day finally arrived. April 22, 2011. We spent a perfectly, low key night together which blossomed into where we are today. Fridays turned to weekends; weekends led to weekdays and ultimately led to me moving in with him less than 2 years into our relationship. Even after being around each other so much and for so long, it can honestly be said that we haven’t grown tired of each other. Time stands still yet moves so quickly and we constantly enjoy being around one another. Countless Dodgers games and Disney days later, we are ready to say I DO

When you know you want to spend your life with someone, why wait? Waiting is definitely not my strong suit. Jorge definitely saw thst even more in a pandemic, activity-less year and just letting the thought of not being engaged fill my head daily. He is truly a man of his word as he told me time and time again: “It will happen, but on my time.” Within the next month of celebrating 10 years, things started to re-open and we decided…it was time for some fun. What better way to have some than spend a day at Disneyland! It was so thrilling to be back. We had park hopper passes so we could enjoy both sides. Starting in DCA, we enjoyed a few stomach dropping, heart pounding rides. Delicious food and cocktails followed suit. Finally…Disneyland was calling us. We enjoyed simply walking around, taking in the sounds and smells of what we missed so much. We walked to the castle which was stunningly beautiful as it was the last time we saw it. We were going to head back to DCA…we had some preordered tacos calling our name, and you don’t ever skip tacos! As we’re walking, Jorge begins to not feel so well (or so I thought 🤔). He drops everything he has on the ground. I rush to help him pickup his things, make sure he’s okay and we stand there for a bit to make certain he’s fine. On the ground in front of the castle, the words “When You Wish Upon a Star, Your Dreams Will Come True” are printed. He asks me if I believe that to be true. After many years and many wishes on stars in my lifetime, OF COURSE! I turn on my heel to walk away (remember, tacos are waiting!). I feel his hand grab mine, I turn, and he’s down on one knee with a ring. Talk about Disney magic, right? Jorge has always been a romantic person (thank the movies for that ❤️) but he’s not typical. I never would have suspected he had this up his sleeve. The ill feeling…FAKE! Definitely threw me off my game in the best way. In an hour’s time, I became a fianceé and got some delicious eats after. 😍😁

Now having officially been married for more than half a year, we can both truly say that time has flown by and we are enjoying every minute of being husband and wife. From the wedding, to honeymoon, to covid and beyond: we are still very much the same. Just with some added bling and a new last name for the bride. We cannot wait until April 22, 2023…One Year Anniversary! Celebrating the small milestones in between has been so much fun. To count the years will feel like such a bigger feat and we know it will be extremely special.
