OUR LOVE STORY

February 24, 2018

Rosa & Scott "met" through a mutual friend virtually via Facebook. Their friend knew they both had similar interests (basketball & hiking). Rosa made the first move by friend requesting Scott, but it wasn't until a week later that he finally accepted her request and then messaged her! She was so excited to see his message that she replied almost immediately. Rosa was leaving to Paris the next morning so she had to get to bed early, but lo and behold, they ended up messaging back and forth until about 2 am. Throughout her trip they kept in touch, Rosa shared her touristy photos with him and they messaged the nights away. Rosa remembers being on her way to the Louvre looking down at her phone and seeing a message from Scott that made her laugh, she looked up and noticed her friends watching her and they said, "Wow, someone looks very happy! You must really like this guy." When Rosa returned they planned their first date for March 10, 2018 at Wokcano. She remembers nervously approaching Scott as he was sitting down, he stood up and she immediately noticed that he was almost a whole foot taller than her - someone that can reach things for her, "SCORE!" They talked for almost 4 hours about common interests (and his, unfortunate, dislike of the Lakers - the only thing she found "wrong" about this guy, lol) and they ended up laughing the night away. As the night winded down, Scott walked Rosa to her car they noticed it began drizzling, they hugged goodbye and shared their first kiss in the rain, it was magical! On March 30, 2018, Scott & Rosa made it official, and the rest is history!

THE PROPOSAL

NOVEMBER 22, 2020

Fast forward to almost 3 years later in the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, Scott mentioned planning a family hike. After needing to reschedule a few times they finally decided on a day, November 22, 2020, at the Griffith Observatory. As they all trekked their way up the trail, Scott managed to secretly speak to all of Rosa's family members to devise a plan for the proposal, Rosa did not suspect a thing! As they reached the end of the trail they decided to make their way to the top of the Observatory to take some pictures. When they arrived, Scott asked Rosa to go with him to the ledge to check out the spectacular view overlooking Los Angeles. As Rosa began taking pictures, she looked back to see where Scott was only to find him getting down on one knee beginning to propose. Rosa was on cloud nine, she felt like she was in a dream, it was so surreal, it felt like it was just her and Scott in that moment of time. When Scott asked Rosa to marry him she could not get any words out, she was still unable to comprehend her emotions; she felt happy, shocked, excited and loved all at the same time. When she finally said, "YES!" an overwhelming feeling of bliss overtook them both. Having their family present (Scott's family was on FaceTime) to witness this special moment made it all the better, it was an amazing day.
