We met junior year of high school at a mutual friend’s bonfire. We became friends but let’s be honest, there was definitely a crush happening. We were in our own worlds, just figuring things out (and maybe being a little stubborn about how we felt). Eventually, we became best friends, the kind that flirt-but-don’t-call-it-flirting. Until senior year, when Tanner finally asked Sydney to prom and to be his girlfriend. She said... no. In her defense, she was leaving for college soon and didn’t want to complicate things. But a few days later... Sydney asked him to be her boyfriend on February 18, 2019. And he said yes. After high school, Sydney headed to college in North Dakota while Tanner jumped straight into full-time work with the labor union. Long-distance wasn’t exactly easy, but we made it work (mostly through FaceTime, road trips, and probably way too much gas station energy drinks). Eventually, Sydney transferred to school in Duluth, Tanner changed jobs, and we moved in together... with six other guys. Think: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs... If the dwarfs never did the dishes and left empty beer cans everywhere. But to be fair, those guys are some of our closest friends, and that chapter came with a lot of laughs and some top-tier shenanigans. After surviving that chapter, we finally got our own place and added two pups to the family: Indy and Arlo. Life’s been chaotic in the best way. On January 30, 2024, Tanner proposed on the shores of Lake Superior. And this time, Sydney did say yes. Since then, we've bought our first home, continued collecting dog hair on every piece of clothing we own, and built a life we're incredibly proud of. By the time our wedding day arrives, Syd will have earned her Master's of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and Tanner will have spent 5½ years at Veit and 7 years working hard in the Laborers' Union. Now, after seven years together, we're finally making this whole thing official. We can’t wait to celebrate with you! Let’s party!
