We're Getting Married!

In September of 2019, Erik and Lauren were introduced to each other by a mutual friend at an event through his fraternity. Life preoccupied them in different directions throughout the year, but the Sig Eps and AXOs were neighbors on campus which allowed them to remain casual acquaintances. In February of 2020, Lauren was looking for a date to the Sig Ep Valentine's Day date party as she decided to join in on the festivities last minute with her sorority friends. She had reached out to Erik the night before to ask if he knew of anyone who needed a last minute date. Erik had commitments to travel to a conference in Chicago the next morning of their date party, but told her he would let her know if he heard of anyone needing one. The next day, three hours before the date party, Lauren received a text from Erik stating his car had broken down 20 minutes outside of Bloomington and he was on his way back for the night. He asked her what she wanted to drink that night and the rest is history! COVID-19 came about less than a month after that date party, and they were unfortunately sent home (Erik back to IL and Lauren back to Indy) for the remainder of the school year. Though they had been only talking casually, Erik and Lauren decided to visited each other a few times throughout the months and officially started dating in May of 2020! Erik and Lauren continued dating throughout their years at Indiana University where they graduated as college sweethearts in May of 2022. They moved to NYC following graduation, where Erik proposed in Brooklyn on July 18, 2024!
