From across the country. Two people glancing at each others social media but being drawn in for unknown reasons. It started with a little light flirting here and there. Flirting turned into messages and then into texts. Those text messages then turned into phone calls that would last hours. They would be "on my way to school or work" phone calls, driving home phone calls & before bed phone calls. Getting to know each other before even having met in person really helps you learn the most about them. Two months before I was about to make my big move back to Portland, OR from Long Island, NY. That's when we started talking. Two months of getting to know one another. Finding just how much we liked each other via phone calls & text messages. And then finally the day came. The day after I graduated from culinary school I made my move back to the west coast. April 28th, 2016. I hopped on my flight & there was no turning back. But there he was. I landed & he was there with flowers and a smile on his face waiting for me. It was like a movie, a man waiting for a women at the airport with flowers and love in his eyes. He was there to greet me and my two dogs. He made sure that we had gotten to the hotel safely. From that day on we had become inseparable. We saw each other almost every day after that. As of May 15th, 2016 we were officially dating exclusively, not that we hadn't been already. About a year later, just two days before my 27th birthday. Sean had been trying to get me to go over to a scenic area by our apartment called Mount Tabor, but I had worked all week and was tired and didn't want to go out when I had to be up early the next morning. I guess you can say I kind of ruined his proposal plan but he decided the time was right. We got home, both in our work clothes and as I was about to go change, he comes up behind me and gets down on one knee and asks me to be with him forever. It was definitely a very "us" moment. Of course I said yes.
