Marissa & Rob both swiped right in the spring of 2023. With Rob living in Elgin and Marissa living in Chicago, they were committed to making the short distance work due to their instant connection. The following year Marissa & her cat Henry packed their bags and moved in with Rob & his dog Gigi. Their love continued to grow through the months spending time and holidays with both their families, his friends becoming her friends and her friends becoming his friends, attending basketball games, concerts, late night dinners, playing each other in fantasy football and hours of watching reality tv. During the first week of September, the couple went off on vacation to California. They started their time away in Laguna Beach diving into the Pacific ocean and having sunset dinners. They then spent the day in Disneyland on rollercoasters and Rob building his own personal lightsaber. After a very long day in Anaheim, the couple was enroute on a 10 hour journey driving up the Pacific coast to Napa Valley. There were many sights to see including driving through the beach town of Venice Beach, stopping in Santa Barbra for lunch, and driving across the Golden Gate Bridge. Finally, they arrived to Napa Valley. On their first day in wine country, unbeknownst to Marissa, Robert planned a private wine tasting at Sterling Vineyards. They took the gondola up to the hilltop where the winery is located. The couple had the vineyard to themselves while on their tour stopping for tastings throughout. At the end of the tour, the couple arrived to the most picturesque photo spot overlooking the hills and vineyards of Napa Valley. At that moment, Robert took Marissa's hands and got down on one knee and asked the easiest question to say yes to. The couple celebrate on the hilltop with plenty of champagne soaking in every moment of the start of their forever together.
