We both grew up in the same town and officially met summer of 2011 at a friend’s house. We stayed up way too late talking and hanging out with a few of our friends and right after that we were totally crushing. We went on to hang out throughout the next year but eventually went our separate ways through college. Fast forward to winter of 2015, we reconnected and began dating in spring of 2016. Throughout the past 7 years, we have experienced so much together and grown and changed in ways that have only made us stronger. There is no one else we would have wanted to experience this part of our lives with through our 20s - moving to a new city, building our careers, buying our first home together, and so much more. We can’t wait for the next chapter as husband and wife and for the many stages of life still to come!

It was Christmas Eve 2022, and we were going to church with my family and then celebrating Christmas at my sister’s house. As we’re heading to church, Brent tells me one of my Christmas presents was delivered to the house, and he doesn’t want it to sit on the porch all night so after church he’s going to run home and put it inside. He asks if I want to go with him, and I say no, I’ll just ride back to my sister’s house with my parents so I can hang out with them (mostly just didn’t want to sit in the car for a 45 minute round trip). He then pulls the “you don’t want to hang out with me” card, so I agree to go with him. We pull up to our house, and I tell him to just go bring it inside real quick and I’ll wait in the car (I was really making him work for it). He agrees and goes inside. A few minutes later he calls me panicking and saying a shelf fell and he needs my help (let me point out that we have hardly any shelves in our house so I have no idea what could have fallen but he’s really playing it off). I open our front door, and there he is in our living room of our first home together surrounded by candles, rose petals, and letters that say Marry Me. I have never been so surprised, and it was the easiest YES of my life! :)
