The moral of the story? Third time’s the charm. Elizabeth and Andrew met three times before they ever considered being friends, let alone dating. The first encounter began when Elizabeth swiped right on Andrew on Bumble. You’d think that would have been enough for her to reach out, but she felt like she knew him from somewhere. So, she turned to her bestie, Olivia, for advice. Olivia advised against messaging him, and to this day, Andrew won’t let them live it down. The second meeting came when Elizabeth had just been promoted to Assistant Manager at HEB. One of the things she hated most about her new role was coaching others, but when she was asked to coach a bagger who was putting too many cans in one bag, she didn’t expect that bagger to be Andrew. Then, the third time proved to be the charm. Elizabeth was a camp counselor at A&M, and Andrew was a newly transferred camper stepping out of his comfort zone. When Elizabeth saw that someone needed a little reassurance, she instinctively knew that Andrew just needed a friend. After the camp weekend wrapped up, Elizabeth was determined that Andrew was going to be her friend—whether he liked it or not (and truth be told, he did want her to be). One thing led to another, and before long, they were hanging out at Sonic, driving around College Station, laughing the night away. That is, until Andrew popped a tire (he still claims Elizabeth is the bad driver). To make matters more interesting, he was wearing a "I need a girlfriend" shirt with his phone number on it—under a hoodie that was way too hot for the weather. Seeing her opportunity, Elizabeth texted Andrew to make sure he now had her phone number. And, as they say, the rest is history. On September 30th, 2021, thanks to Chris joking about Andrew having a girlfriend without the title, Andrew finally asked Elizabeth to be his girlfriend. From long-distance calls and countless FaceTime sessions to visiting each other’s families in different cities and traveling the world, Elizabeth and Andrew are truly each other’s better half. They can’t imagine life without one another.
