It all started with a love for the gym. Shortly after Chase transferred to the police department, Torie and Chase ran into each other while working out at a local gym. Both too nervous to say hi. Thanks to a mutual friend, coworker and unbeknownst wingman who was working out with Torie that evening, all three went for a post workout beer (#balance). Like any good wingman, it shortly turned into just Torie and Chase. After several hours of talking, both parted ways to head home. Torie noticed that Chase was following her as she headed home. Turns out, the two were neighbors. God was obviously really committed to this. Just a few days later, Chase set up a date night at his apartment, next door, for the two to get to know each other better. Torie wasted no time by asking just a few minutes into hanging out, “So, are you interested in me or are we just planning on being friends?” The rest was history. Both stayed up until five in the morning talking about their faith, their families, interests, and even plans for the future. Everything just seemed to line up. Next came the daily gym dates, pick-up basketball games and most importantly the trips to Target. Fast forward two years, many TexMex and gym dates later... Chase surprised Torie by making reservations at Drakes in Dallas on February 9th, 2021 (a Tuesday of all days). When both arrived home, Torie noticed fresh flowers covering the kitchen island that weren’t there before. Torie immediately assumed this was a really over the top Valentine’s Day surprise, until she realized Chase wasn’t just tying his shoe. The easiest yes. The Lord has been overwhelmingly faithful throughout Torie and Chase’s relationship, constantly guiding their steps. The two have leaned on His word and guidance when deciding the values they want to carry throughout their relationship and into their marriage. Both are excited for the future and pray that their love will be an example of the same unfailing love that Christ has shown us.
