Barrett and Renea met during their sophomore year of college on a beach trip with friends, and from the very beginning, their connection felt easy and natural. What began as a simple conversation on that trip quickly grew into something meaningful as they spent the next several months getting to know each other, even while navigating some of their busiest semesters. By December, they officially began dating, and soon after, Renea found herself at her first family event: a Christmas Gaither concert. Barrett’s family wasted no time by giving her the heroic task of guarding an impressive number of seats for church friends. She took it in stride, laughed through the chaos, and unknowingly passed her first “family initiation.” A task that felt overwhelming in the moment but has become a memory she’s truly thankful for. Over the next year and a half, they supported each other through late‑night study sessions, stressful seasons, and the ups and downs of college life. Through perseverance, shared growth, and countless memories, Barrett and Renea built a strong foundation, one that has shaped them into who they are today. In August of 2025, just a few months before reaching two years of dating, their story reached a new milestone when Barrett asked Renea to spend forever with him on an Alaskan Gaither Cruise. Now, with deep gratitude for the journey that brought them here, they are excited to begin their life together.
