Bits and pieces from the most special engagement day Aiden planned!

Our Story

Hannah and I met for the first time when a mutual friend invited us both to play pickleball. Neither of us thought much of it, but very soon we started to notice each other around more often, even realizing we had a class together all semester and never noticed it. Both of us started mentioning the other to that same mutual friend, and eventually she put two and two together for us, and we went out on a double date to a dance hall. We talked all night and even went back to my house and played board games. Eventually Hannah left, and I didn’t think much of it other than the fact that I really liked her and hoped she’d want to go on a second date. Minutes later, I received a call from the friend saying that they were turning the car around and Hannah needed to talk to me. So I walked out and got in the car, and that is when she confessed her feelings for me, and I did the same. We started sitting together in that class and went on a more intentional coffee date and soon realized that we got along quite well and that the Lord was pulling on our hearts in very similar ways. We started dating less than two weeks later on May 3rd, 2024! We then left for a summer apart. I went to be a camp counselor, and Hannah left for a discipleship program in Orlando. This was a foundational time in our relationship where we got to learn more about the Lord and how to depend on Him. We came back stronger than ever, both getting to grow as leaders in our church’s college ministry alongside each other. Not long after, we started talking about marriage and eventually decided that we each wanted to be ministry partners forever (aka get married). I then realized I was broke, so I got a job fixing mobile homes to save up for a ring! We then set off for what we thought would be another summer apart, both on the other side of the world. Through a crazy turn of events, Hannah ended up in the same country as me for 6 of the 8 weeks I was there. We got to see more of who God is together and do ministry work with college students at Chiang Mai University! Pretty much as soon as we got back, I went and picked up the ring and went behind Hannah’s back with her sister and friends to plan the perfect day for her. We got engaged on September 27th, 2025. Hannah woke up with her twin sister surprising her with a note from me letting her know that it was the day! She then went all over town with fun activities and sweet surprises from her favorite people. Then her friends dropped her off at a dock off of the Bosque River, and there I asked her to do forever with me… she said yes! (Phew.) We are so excited for our wedding in May and are continuing to learn more and more ways that the Lord has wired us to love each other, continuing to depend on Him every morning to serve each other well. Praying that our love for each other can be a small picture of the love that Christ has for His church.
