After a busy week of working several night shifts, studying, and taking semester finals, Justin had me convinced that we were meeting to take family pictures at the end of Jessie’s (his brother’s girlfriend) graduation session. He had told me to be ready by 6 so that we could be at Fox Hill by 6:15 to meet his family and to give Jessie plenty of time to get her pictures taken. We pulled up to a nearly empty lot, aside from Jenna’s car and his mother’s car. He had posed his mom’s car at Fox Hill earlier in the day. Smart! When getting out of the car, Jenna waved and told us she was switching out her cameras but the others were down by the chapel. We walked up and I told him I didn’t see any of his family and Justin being Justin, made a silly joke that I laughed at and thought nothing else of. Jenna walked up and we began carrying on casual conversation. I hadn’t realized Justin had walked away because I was steadily talking until Jenna told me to go stand by Justin so she could capture a picture of just the two of us in that light. This still didn’t trigger anything in my mind, because Jenna has taken several pictures of us at different events. Gullible, I know. I don’t remember much after Justin started speaking because I was in complete disbelief. I cried tears of joy, said yes (I think), and then laughed and shrieked about how I had absolutely no idea. We later went to dinner at Mom and Dad’s, one of the first (of many) dates we shared together. He had arranged for both of our families to be there to celebrate with us. We then spent the weekend in one of our favorite places, Palatka. #iykyk I’ll never forget the detail and dedication Justin put in to that day to ensure I was completely surprised. I laugh looking back at all of the silly excuses and stories he told me all week leading up to that day. It was a sweet day and a memory I’ll cherish forever!
