Picture this, it's the tail end of Covid and we're all reaching dangerous levels of stir crazy. Restaurants are slowly opening their doors, we're still nervously wearing masks in public and most of us are working remotely from our cold basements or dining room tables. That's how our tale begins. David was already living and working in the Detroit area looking for something to keep him active and busy. A few of his pals decided to join the Detroit City Football Club beer league soccer team. Kara had just moved back to the east side of the state and was starting a new job in Detroit. A few of her close friends encouraged her join this same beer league team to have some fun and meet new people. Fun fact: She has absolutely zero soccer skills. David has lots. David and Kara began playing soccer together once a week. The kicker was that both of them had to wear masks the whole time and there was no real opportunities to linger and chit chat after games. This went on for about two full seasons of playing together. Finally, after a particularly painful loss in the beginning of the third season, Kara decided to invite a few of her teammates to enjoy a beer. David was amongst this crew. The minute they sat down together the masks came off, the conversation flowed easily and both of them left wanting to spend a little more time with the other. What started as a bond over many game losses, a beer or two, freak serendipitous coincidences with friends and shared interests, turned into four years at each others side. A finale that will culminate at their wedding and each day after that. We can't wait to celebrate with you.
