Andrew and Alyssa met the way most kids these days do - online. Their first date was at Wissahickon Brewery where they spoke about their families, Italy, camping and so much more. They were both so engaged in conversation they didn't even hear that last-call was announced. They stayed chatting until closing and the rest is history. They now spend their time doing all the things they spoke about on that very first date.
Andrew and Alyssa had a beautiful Italian trip awaiting them until the coronavirus hit. Once things began shutting down, they canceled their trip and instead opted to go camping - the opposite of the lush Italian vacation they had planned. Their first stop? Glacier National Park in Montana. They began their first hike of the trip - the Highline Hike to Grinnell Glacier Overlook. They hiked about 7.5 miles where they reached the off shoot and began the upward trek of over 900 feet in a 0.5 mile to the overlook. Alyssa's fear of heights was overcoming her, but Andrew kept telling her it would all be worth it once they got to the top. Well, then Andrew's fear of heights overcame him and he didn't propose at the top! Andrew walked his way back down the cliffside mountain while Alyssa half-crawled asking for a ranger to rescue her. Andrew made it down first and as Alyssa came around the bend, Andrew with a big smile on his face got down on his knee and proposed. Alyssa said "of course!" and fellow hikers congratulated them. They hiked back out to the car and spent the next week together in the Rocky Mountains relatively unplugged enjoying each other's company.
